Morning Meditation
Why Morning Meditations?
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Isaiah 2:3 ESV)
As the farmer says to his son, "Come, let us work the field," or a soldier says to another, "Come, there is ground we must cover," so we should approach the throne of God daily.
It does not say, "I'll go while you stay." It does not say, "Come, let us wait for God to come to us." Instead we are to go to Him.
It is for training that we go to Him. It is learn from our master His ways and the paths to His ways. In order for this to be our mindset, we must first desire His will above ours and His ways above our ways.
Proverbs tells us, "there is a way that seems right unto man and the end it leads to death."
We are not to go to the house of The Lord to show Him our ways and our paths but to lay our ways aside because His way is the higher road. His paths are the better paths.
There is a wonderful peace about coming to The Lord early in the mornings. However there is also a logic to this stated time. That is that it is hard to seek after the ways and paths of The Lord when we have already begun our day walking in our way, achieving our goals and living our lives instead of He living His ways through us.
Come let us encourage one another to seek The Lord daily. Come let us spur one another on to morning meditations. Come let us join together to learn His ways and His paths.
